Last night we had a little scare with our dog Mya. At about ten she came in from going to the bathroom gagging and stressed out. She wouldn't stop and kept pacing to go back to the door to go outside. When I followed her outside all she did was eat grass like crazy. When we called the emergency vet they said she either ate something or her bowels were twisted (uhhh that latter is a serious one!). So of course we piled into the car and drove forever away to the vets office. The whole time we kept watching her in hopes that she was done gagging and we could turn around. Hey, I'm not gonna lie - it was late and I wanted to be in bed. We ended up staying there until 1 in the morning. An x-ray, an anti-nausea injection, and $240 later we were out the door with a conclusion that she had gorged herself on mini pears from a tree in our yard. I can only hope that it wasn't just her that ate all 90 out of 100 of those pears lying on the ground! How does this relate to health? - more on this topic tomorrow...
